Adia Empowerment Center Scholarships

The Adia Empowerment Center empowers individuals through vocational and skill development. We build thriving communities through vocational training and entrepreneurial opportunities.

In Kenya (2019 data), approximately 11% of the eligible population enrolled in tertiary education, but only about 3.5% of the total population held a university degree. (compared to approximately 79% in the US). And right now, 80% of Kenya’s population is under the age of 35. It’s a young country with a severe lack of opportunities for education and skill development.

Our dream is the help change that.

The Adia Empowerment Center aims to bridge the gap by providing affordable and accessible training programs. Programs that teach specific trade skills to motivated adults so they can join the job market or, even better, start their own businesses.

The Amani Foundation is raising funds to help scholarship students for specific training programs.

Adia scholarships – Our mission at Adia is to provide life-changing vocational training to those who need it most. While we require a small tuition fee to ensure student investment, the reality is that most of our students face extreme financial hardship, often balancing their studies with low-wage, seasonal work.

Adia Scholarships are vital. They help offset program costs and make quality education accessible. When you support our scholarship fund, you directly impact a student’s ability to succeed by funding essential resources such as:

  • Salaries for our dedicated faculty and staff
  • Up-to-date program materials and curriculum
  • Mandatory exam and certification fees
  • Utilities and equipment upkeep

Your contribution ensures our students receive the top-level training they need to secure a brighter future.

  • Scholarship One Student for one Cohort – $400
  • Monthly Scholarship Fund  – $35 per month
  • Scholarship an entire Cohort of 40 students – $16,000
  • Scholarship an entire academic year of 120 students – $48,000

Benefits

When you give a willing person an opportunity to learn a trade, that person can thrive. By providing practical job training, students can go on to start businesses of their own. As those businesses grow, they will not only provide for themselves and their families, they will also be able to provide employment for others. This self-sustaining employment approach helps break the poverty cycle that holds so many back in developing countries.
