The Impact
A recent census in Kenya showed that 87% of the population is under the age of 35. Kenya is a very young country. Most young people are unable to extend their education from High School to College or University. The Shujaa Community Center is a trade school offering training in Culinary Arts, Carpentry, Tailoring, Photography, Videography and Video and Sound Production. In addition to specific trades, The Shujaa Community Center will offer business and computer classes to help student succeed.
The Amani Foundation raised the funds to build a 16,000 square foot, 4 story building to house this life changing school. Complete with classrooms, restrooms and a full commercial kitchen and cafe, the Shujja Community Center will serve as a training center for those desiring to start their own businesses and thus breaking the poverty cycle.
