Silanga is a community located in north-east Nairobi County. Home to over 10,000 residents, this community relies on unpredictable municipal water sources that are often unavailable or unsafe to consume. There are currently no publicly accessible wells for families in this area. Most walk as far as two to three miles to unreliable water sources like streams or open pit wells or they have to spend hard earned money to buy water. This electric powered, deep-bore well will make a life changing impact in the community and schools of this area.
